The characters we have
come to know. These are the people we would be, if only we could.
Current
members of the WENN staff
Mackie
Bloom - 'Man of a Thousand Voices' and sometime romantic lead; most versatile of the WENN players.
Hilary Booth - former
Broadway diva and leading lady on most of the WENN programs.
Was (and may still be) married to Jeff Singer.
Eugenia Bremer - provides
the themes and musical interludes and has her own program in the wee small hours of the
morning.
Tom Eldridge - retired
Broadway doorman; fills in wherever needed. The Elder Statesman of WENN.
Mr. Foley - sound effects
man (though he has never made a sound with his voice); known to everyone as Mr. Foley.
Gertrude Reese -
Receptionist/switchboard operator, fill-in actor, conscience; known to all as Gertie.
Maple Marsh -
wise-cracking city gal with a heart of gold; came to take Eugenia's place, but was added
as an actor instead.
Betty Roberts - head
writer and jane-of-all- jobs, Betty is the prime mover at WENN (untitled,
defacto station manager).
Scott Sherwood - showed
up claiming to be Victor's hand-picked successor; was station manager until found out
(much mystery here). Stayed on as an actor.
Jeff Singer - romantic
lead in many productions; has had an on-again, off-again marriage with Hilary Booth.
Former members of the WENN staff
Victor Comstock - former
station manager, well-liked by all who knew him. Apparently killed in a bombing raid while
on special assignment in London. Probably would have had a relationship with Betty
Roberts, if time had permitted.
Celia (?) - perky blond
wannabe actress who got her wish and flew off to Hollywood.
C.J. - station engineer and
occasional fill-in actor.
